Alan is SVP Refining, Chemicals and Oil Markets. As Downstream Global SME, he is responsible for formulating Wood Mackenzie’s market and asset research outlook on this global sector, contributing to Wood Mackenzie’s integrated cross-sector perspectives.
Alan has 35 years of downstream industry experience across industry, consulting and research. He has had various people and content leadership roles in Wood Mackenzie during this 18-year tenure, including global head downstream consulting and research, having spent time in other locations, such as Houston.
Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Alan had 10 years of industry consulting after working for ExxonMobil in a variety of project planning and technical process design roles.
Alan has a first class Master Degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London, supplemented by an MBA from Henley Management College.
