Julian Zec, Chief Engineer CM/CBM, National Oilwell Varco works with development and delivery of condition monitoring and condition-based maintenance, focusing on holistic delivery of digital maintenance programs. 

Engineering team under his supervision supports technical aspects of CBM programs, currently on over 60 rigs.  They use sensory and other information to prevent failures and optimize rig uptime.  

He also participates in standardisation efforts with ISO, leads joint development of new smart IoT based (DNV and ABS) class programs and university relations. 

Previously he was leading development of NOV CM/CBM IoT and analytics “Rigsentry” platform. He has also experience from field engineering, offshore operations and subsea engineering positions. 

“Currently I am most engaged in questions around integration of residual organizational knowledge with sensory data. “ 

Julian holds MSc degree in IT from University of Stavanger, and a degree in Organizational Development and Leadership from Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen (NHH).
